India, Oct. 23 -- The Ministry of Railways has accorded its approval for the laying of a fourth line between Tambaram and Chengalpattu section at an estimated completion cost of '757.18 crore aimed at boosting connectivity in the state, the Southern Railway said on Wednesday.

Currently, the Tambaram-Chengalpattu section is a three-line stretch on the Chennai Beach-Villupuram - Tiruchirappalli- Kanyakumari, serving suburban, long-distance trains.
