Jammu, July 23 -- In a decisive move to counter the escalating threat of drone warfare, the Border Security Force (BSF) has started raising a new "wall of defence" in the form of "drone squadrons" to neutralize enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and conduct cross-border counter-assaults, sources familiar with the development revealed on Tuesday.

This strategic initiative launched along the India-Pakistan border, follows a critical review of the four-day conflict with Pakistan from May 7 to May 10, 2025, during which Pakistan deployed nearly 1,000 UAVs targeting Indian military and civilian installations.
