India, Oct. 22 -- A seniormost manager in a leading player in the mutual funds segment recently asserted that certain assets like gold have "no fundamental value," and their prices are due to a "belief that someone else will buy it from you at a higher price." He added in a rare, bizarre, and unprecedented criticism of bullion, "So do invest in gold and silver, but being aware that these are the assets which are difficult to value fundamentally and, hence, should be a limited part of your portfolio."
