India, Oct. 18 -- BJP MP from South Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Friday said that Ayurveda is India's ancient medical system, but there is a need to increase public awareness about it and establish it as a scientific system through more research.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a function organised to mark the ninth foundation day of the All-India Institute of Ayurveda praising Ayurveda. Bidhuri said that the Ayurvedic system of medicine eradicates any disease from its roots. The most important thing is that this system has no side effects. It provides permanent cures and even treats diseases like diabetes, arthritis, and asthma, which other systems consider incurable.
