India, May 4 -- A portion of the Vikramshila Setu over the Ganga River collapsed in Bihar's Bhagalpur district earler today, triggering panic and forcing authorities to halt traffic movement. Officials confirmed that no casualties have been reported in the incident.
According to district authorities, the collapse occurred around 12:50 am near pillar number 133 of the bridge, when a gap formed between two slabs, followed by a section falling into the river. Swift action by officials ensured that vehicles and commuters were cleared from the area in time, preventing any injuries.
