Kolkata, July 23 -- The Bengal Government is likely to call a special Assembly session to discuss the alleged "harassment" of Bengali migrant workers in the BJP-ruled States.
According to sources in the Parliamentary Affairs department, the Session could be held sometime in the month of August, "perhaps the first week of August itself."
A senior official said that a resolution was likely to be passed in the Assembly after a debate regarding the "torture" and alleged "deportation" of Bengali-speaking migrant workers from the saffron States.
The debate is likely to be held on two issues: First the targeting of Bengali-speaking migrant workers by branding them as Bangladeshis and secondly, deporting them to Bangladesh. On whether the Opposi...
