India, May 17 -- Authorities carried out a large-scale anti-encroachment drive outside Howrah Railway Station in West Bengal during the early hours of Sunday. The operation targeted illegal structures and makeshift shops occupying public spaces around the station area.

The drive was jointly conducted by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), railway officials, and Howrah City Police. Heavy security arrangements were made to ensure law and order during the operation.
