India, Dec. 28 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that the upcoming Assembly elections will be a fight to protect swadesh (nation) and swajati (own community), along with the identity, land and culture of the people of the State. BJP represents the last light of hope that will ensure that the state is not pushed into an abyss of darkness by infiltrators from Bangladesh, the Chief Minister said at the party's executive meeting.
