India, July 28 -- The Assam government has decided to withdraw police cases registered against protesters involved in demonstrations over the NEET question paper leak and release those arrested or detained during the protests, according to an official notification.

Five cases were registered in the state in connection with protests led by students and youth, resulting in the arrest of 13 people.

The notification issued last night said those arrested or detained would be released promptly and no adverse legal action would be initiated against anyone involved in the protests.
