Amrit Dalam, facing 21 cases, extradited from Moldova to Punjab Police
India, Sept. 12 -- Punjab Police has brought back alleged gangster Amritpal Singh alias Amrit Dalam from Moldova, nearly two years after he fled India using a forged passport, the police said.
Dalam, who is allegedly linked to the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, was taken into custody by a four-member Punjab Police team on September 11 and brought to India. He was detained in Moldova following a six-month operation by the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and the Organised Crime Control and Forensic Team (OFTEC), officials said.
Police had earlier issued an Interpol Red Notice against him. He was detained at the Moldova border in March while allegedly attempting to move towards Ukraine.
