India, April 5 -- Attacking both the ruling and Opposition blocs in poll-bound Puducherry as having failed the aspirations of the local people, TVK chief Vijay on Saturday positioned his party as a credible alternative, promising 100 per cent efforts to secure full statehood and a slew of welfare measures, including free electricity.

The actor-politician labelled the ruling AINRC-BJP combine as "exhausted," and the Congress-DMK bloc as "confused."
