India, June 23 -- In a landmark development for the legal industry, a UK-based artificial intelligence-powered law firm has successfully won a court case against a team represented by traditional human lawyers, marking what is being described as a world first.

Garfield AI, an AI-driven legal platform authorised by the UK's Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), helped a freelance human resources professional secure a favourable judgment in a £7,000 dispute over unpaid fees. The AI handled the preparation of legal documents, witness statements and case bundles before instructing a human barrister to represent the client in court.
