India, Oct. 10 -- Afghanistan's Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi landed in New Delhi on Thursday, marking the first high-level visit by a Taliban official to India since the group seized control of Kabul over four years ago.
The visit underscores a cautious yet notable shift in India's approach to the Taliban regime, which it has yet to formally recognise.
Muttaqi's six-day visit, which runs from October 9 to October 16, comes after the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) granted him a special exemption from international travel sanctions.
