India, March 27 -- HDFC Bank on Thursday announced a tie-up with Smile Foundation to roll out eight mobile medical units (MCUs) in remote North Indian areas, targeting primary healthcare for over 4 lakh people.

Under the bank's CSR arm 'Parivartan', the two-year drive (April 2026 to March 2028) will span Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab and Uttarakhand. MCUs will deliver OPD consultations, diagnostics, free medicines and referrals to public health centres.

Focus areas include maternal - child care, NCD screenings for hypertension, diabetes and anaemia, plus school programmes on hygiene, nutrition and menstrual health. "This will bridge critical gaps in healthcare access for underserved regions," said Nusrat Pathan, Head-CSR, HDFC Bank. ...
