India, July 19 -- Two United States service members were killed and another remains missing after an Iranian missile and drone attack targeted the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, marking one of the deadliest attacks on American forces in the region in recent months.

According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the attack took place while American troops were defending the military installation against incoming ballistic missiles and drones launched by Iran. Several other personnel were also injured, with some requiring medical evacuation before being discharged.
