Manila, March 19 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed former Environment Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga as Special Envoy for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM), the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced Thursday.

In a statement, the PCO said Yulo-Loyzaga took her oath before Marcos in a ceremony at Malacanan Palace in Manila on Wednesday.

Marcos congratulated Yulo-Loyzaga on her appointment and expressed appreciation for her acceptance of the role, citing her extensive expertise in disaster resilience management.
