Manila, Sept. 15 -- The University of the Philippines Manila (UP Manila) has opened a new laboratory that would allow health professionals to practice surgical and clinical procedures using cadaveric specimens before performing them on actual patients.

In a news release Tuesday, UP Manila said the Surgical Knowledge Intensive Learning Laboratory through Simulation (SKILLS) Laboratory, launched early this month, aims to provide a dedicated facility for cadaver-based simulation training and other medical education activities.
