Manila, June 23 -- The United Arab Emirates on Tuesday condemned the mass shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City that killed three students and injured several others.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Abu Dhabi "strongly condemns such criminal acts" and "firmly rejects all forms of violence and extremism aimed at undermining security and stability."

"The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of the Philippines, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for all those injured," it said.
