Manila, Aug. 5 -- The six persons injured in an air compressor explosion in Tondo received free medical treatment at the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC).
In a statement Tuesday, the DOH said the full coverage of their medical expenses is in accordance with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive under the "Bayad na Bill Mo" program, also known as the zero balance billing policy.
The initiative ensures that patients under basic accommodation in the DOH hospitals are not charged out-of-pocket expenses for their treatment.
Three of the victims have undergone surgery and are recovering in the surgical intensive care unit.
