Manila, July 1 -- As the country began observing National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) this Wednesday, Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Administrator, Undersecretary Harold Cabreros, highlighted the need to beef up disaster resilience through sustained commitment and collective action.

"The message of resilience is not new, but its importance grows even more urgent as we continue to face hazards, climate-related threats, and other emerging risks. Building resilience requires sustained commitment and meaningful collaboration among all sectors of society," he said in a statement.

Cabreros also reiterated the agency's commitment to a whole-of-society approach to disaster risk reduction and management.
