Butuan City, June 8 -- The Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Miguel, Surigao del Sur, has ordered rice retailers, market vendors, and business establishments to comply with the mandated price ceiling of PHP50 per kilogram on imported rice, following Executive Order (EO) No. 118 issued by Malacanang.

Mayor Michael Corilla on Monday emphasized that the directive aims to protect consumers from sudden price hikes and ensure affordable access to staple food.

"We are directing all rice traders and establishments in San Miguel to strictly observe the PHP50 price ceiling," Corilla said.
