MANILA, Aug. 2 -- The southwest monsoon or "habagat" affecting northern Luzon will bring rains over parts of the island, the weather bureau said Saturday.
In its 4 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Batanes will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.
The southwest monsoon will likewise bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Ilocos and Cordillera regions, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
