Manila, Jan. 20 -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is conducting a search and rescue (SAR) operation for the passengers and crew of motorboat MBCA Amejara, which was reported missing in the seas of the Davao region, after one of them was rescued off Sarangani province.
In a situation report on Tuesday, PCG Spokesperson, Capt. Noemie Cayabyab, said the recreational motorized boat was carrying 13 persons - nine passengers and four crew - when it departed from Santa Ana in Davao City on Saturday.
The motorboat was expected to arrive at Governor Generoso in Davao Oriental on Monday but was instead reported missing, leading to the activation of the PCG's SAR units in the area.
