Manila, Oct. 23 -- Tropical Cyclone Salome has weakened into a low pressure area (LPA), the state weather bureau said in its 5 p.m. bulletin Thursday.
The LPA was last located 145 km. west-northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. It is moving southwestward at 30 kilometers per hour.
No wind signal is hoisted in any part of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
However, the prevailing northeasterly windflow will continue to bring strong to gale-force gusts across Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands, as well as Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.
