Manila, Aug. 18 -- Thousands of families have been evacuated by the Quezon City government amid continuous rains caused by the southwest monsoon or "habagat" that resulted in deep flooding

In a social media post, the city government said 3,372 families or 11,270 individuals from 31 barangays are being sheltered in 52 designated evacuation shelters as of 10 a.m. Tuesday.
