Manila, June 24 -- The repairs on the pumping stations in Roxas Boulevard are expected to be finished early next month, Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon said Wednesday.

Dizon, who inspected the completed Padre Faura pumping station, said flooding in the area would be reduced once repair works at the Remedios and Estero de Abad pumping stations are completed.

"Hopefully, when all this is finished, the flooding will be reduced all the way to Taft Avenue, all the way to P. Ocampo, including in Malate, Kalaw, and Padre Faura. The flooding will be reduced, or at the very least, if there will be floods, it will immediately disappear because it will be quickly absorbed," he said in an interview.
