Manila, Sept. 18 -- The local bourse's main index rose for the third straight session Thursday, boosted by the cut in the US Federal Reserve's key rate Wednesday. The peso, however, depreciated against the US dollar.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose 0.37 percent to 6,233.62 points, and All Shares, by 0.16 percent to 3,734.45 points.
Half of the sectoral gauges also gained during the day - Holding Firms, 1.09 percent; Financials, 1.05 percent; and Services, 0.36 percent.
On the other hand, Mining and Oil slipped 2.50 percent; Industrial, 0.62 percent; and Property, 0.57 percent.
Volume reached 2.09 billion shares, amounting to PHP6.87 billion.
