Manila, Oct. 5 -- Property giant Megaworld Corp. is positioning The Upper East, a 34-hectare mixed-use township located at the heart of Bacolod City, as a major tourist destination.

Megaworld has already launched 1,787 residential condominium units among the five properties in The Upper East.

Construction is ongoing for the 12-story, 300-room The Kingsford, the first development by Megaworld Hotels and Resorts here.

Harold Geronimo, first vice president and head of public relations and media affairs of Megaworld, said that in the coming years, more tourism facilities will rise inside the township.
