MANILA, Oct. 3 -- The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is prioritizing the transport of relief goods via ports amid the possible impact of tropical cyclone Paolo in Northern Luzon.

Paolo weakened into severe tropical storm category as of the 5 p.m. weather bulletin, but wind signals Nos. 1 to 3 were still hoisted in parts of Luzon.

In a news release on Friday, PPA General Manager Jay Santiago said the move is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to ensure public safety and disaster readiness.
