COTABATO CITY, March 23 -- The Cotabato City Police Office (CCPO) has deployed its mobility assets to cushion the impact of the transport holiday here on Monday.
CCPO director PCol. Jibin Bongcayao ordered the deployment of police patrol cars to transport students, office workers, and the general riding public after public utility vehicles ceased operating at 9 a.m. to join the nationwide transport holiday.
Bads Ali, chairman of New Cotabato Transport Cooperative, said their group is asking the national government to grant a provisional fare increase for public utility vehicles and tricycles due to rising prices of gasoline and diesel.
