Manila, Sept. 21 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday asked rally organizers and participants to exercise restraint and respect cops tasked with maintaining peace, order and public safety.

The PNP said its officers will uphold the constitutional rights to freedom of speech and peaceful assembly.

However, acts of violence and other activities that infringe on the rights of others, endanger public safety or disrupt essential services would warrant police intervention.
