PhilHealth pays 98.74% of 1st tranche of YAKAP claims
Manila, June 22 -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has settled 98.74 percent of the first tranche of its Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) claims for 2026, reinforcing the financial viability of the healthcare program.
In a public advisory on Monday, the state insurer noted that data as of June 11 showed that these claims under Tranche 1 of the YAKAP Claims 2026 are officially categorized under Statement of Accounts Payable 1 (SAP 1).
YAKAP is the rebranded and expanded form of the previous "Konsulta" primary care package.
It employs a capitation payment model, which pays accredited clinics a fixed annual amount per enrolled (empaneled) patient rather than a fee-per-visit rate.
