Manila, Oct. 11 -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has vowed to expedite paying back health provider partners within seven working days.
In a media briefing Saturday, Dr. Edwin Mercado, PhilHealth Acting President and Chief Executive Officer, said under the "Rise 30" reform initiative, they have been working to cut the payment process of reimbursement to private health clinics and hospitals.
The "Rise 30" vision is a 30-month reform initiative by PhilHealth that focuses on improving efficiency and trust in healthcare services.
"Before we get to process seven months for payments, but recently we were able to make it as early as 14 to 16 days, so why not make it even shorter to seven days?" Mercado said.
