PH seeks faster rollout of global climate fund in key meeting
Manila, July 8 -- The Philippines has called for faster operationalization of the Global Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD) as it hosts the fund's board meeting slated from Wednesday to Friday, which will discuss the first batch of climate financing proposals for vulnerable developing countries.
At the opening of the 9th meeting of the FRLD Board at the Asian Development Bank headquarters in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna noted that the fund has reached a pivotal stage, as board decisions now shift from building governance structures to actual delivery of support.
