Manila, Aug. 8 -- The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday joined the celebration of the 58th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), reaffirming the Philippines' continued commitment to regional solidarity, cooperation, peace, and shared prosperity.

In a statement, DFA Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro highlighted the country's dedication to advancing the principles enshrined in the Bangkok Declaration, which laid the foundation for the regional bloc's creation in 1967.
