Manila, Sept. 8 -- The Philippines and South Korea are eyeing more defense industry cooperation as both nations commit to beefing up their security partnership, the Department of National Defense (DND) said late Monday.

This position was affirmed during the bilateral meeting of Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. and South Korean Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back on the sidelines of the 2026 Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD), which began on Monday, the DND said in a news release.

In the meeting, both defense chiefs vowed more cooperation for "individual and mutual resilience."
