Manila, Aug. 24 -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued 10 workers after a tugboat sank off the coast of Botolan, Zambales, on Monday morning amid strong waves and rough sea conditions.

In a situation report, the PCG said MTUG SL SUAL 1 was being towed away from the area where it had previously run aground when it began progressively listing to its starboard side at approximately 7:46 a.m.

The tugboat became completely submerged moments later in waters approximately 24 meters deep.

The 10 workers jumped overboard as the vessel began to sink and were subsequently rescued and accounted for, all in good condition.
