PCG personnel, assets in Bicol on standby as ST Inday nears
LEGAZPI CITY, July 8 -- The Philippine Coast Guard District (PCG)-Bicol is now on heightened alert as part of its preparations for the possible effects of Super Typhoon Inday (international name: Bavi), with hundreds of personnel and response assets on standby across the region.
PCG Bicol Commander Commodore Ivan Roldan said 640 personnel have been deployed and are ready to respond to weather-related emergencies, supported by 10 land assets and 14 floating assets for search and rescue and humanitarian assistance operations.
"All Coast Guard stations and substations in the Bicol Region have been placed on heightened alert to ensure immediate response to any incidents that may arise due to the approaching weather disturbance," he said.
