Manila, March 10 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday (New York time) stressed the need to expand education and economic opportunities for women.

During his address at the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations headquarters here, Marcos said education remains a powerful tool for empowering women and transforming societies.

"Too many girls are still denied the education that will allow them to shape their own futures," Marcos said.

"Education must remain at the center of all our efforts. When a girl is educated, the benefits extend far beyond the individual," he added.
