Manila, Oct. 13 -- The provincial government of Pangasinan is granting a total of PHP5 million in cash aid through its Tulong Kapatid program to five calamity-stricken local government units (LGUs) and provinces to aid in their disaster relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino said in an interview on Monday that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed five resolutions last week authorizing the grant of PHP1 million in financial assistance to each LGU --Bogo City, Cebu (affected by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake), and the provinces of Cagayan, Batanes and Masbate, along with Calayan Island (affected by Super Typhoon Nando and Tropical Storm Opong).
