Manila, July 31 -- Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Friday debunked a Thai article that claimed that its "former pilot" became homeless on the streets of Bangkok.

A Thai PBS World article claimed that a "former PAL and AirAsia pilot" lost all his savings, divorced his wife, and became homeless, and was later rescued by a foundation, which took him to a hospital to be treated for his diabetes.

The article, which was shared on the Thai PBS World social media platform, has become viral.

PAL, in a statement, said the article incorrectly identifies an individual named Larry Malpaya as a former pilot of the flag carrier.
