Manila, May 28 -- Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced on Thursday its expanded frequent flyer partnership with Qantas Airways, allowing loyalty program members to redeem points across both of their networks.

"Loyalty partnerships are an important part of extending the reach of Mabuhay Miles and delivering more value to our members," PAL president Richard Nuttall said in a statement.

The partnership with Qantas, he said, allows expanding access to destinations that complement PAL's network, particularly across Australia.

In turn, Qantas Loyalty chief executive officer Andrew Glance said "many of our members want their points to take them further than just the major hubs."
