Manila, Aug. 13 -- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) released PHP65.60 million in food and non-food assistance to communities in Luzon and Metro Manila affected by tropical cyclones Luis and Maymay and the enhanced southwest monsoon ('habagat').

In a statement Thursday, PAGCOR said it distributed 47,192 relief items consisting of 23,596 food packs worth PHP28.91 million and 23,596 non-food packs worth PHP36.69 million.

PAGCOR Chairperson and CEO Alejandro Tengco said the agency started distributing relief packs to affected areas as early as Aug. 8, as part of its continuing disaster response efforts.
