Manila, April 28 -- The Pag-IBIG Fund on Tuesday announced it has released a total of PHP32.92 billion in home loans in the first quarter of 2026, up by 9 percent from the PHP30.22 billion recorded in the same period last year.

In a news release, Pag-IBIG said the increase was driven by continued demand for affordable housing and increased support for lower-income borrowers.

Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta said the agency continues to offer members a practical path to homeownership through affordable monthly payments, which are often lower than actual rental costs.

She said that instead of spending on rent, Pag-IBIG members can make payments toward a home they can call their own.
