Manila, March 12 -- Some PHP7.1 million worth of allegedly substandard computers were seized during a raid in a warehouse in Angeles City, Pampanga, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said Thursday.
In a statement, the CIDG said two employees of the warehouse were arrested for selling and storing computer units that were not compliant to the minimum labeling requirements for consumer products set by the law.
Confiscated during the raid, conducted on Tuesday by CIDG Regional Field Unit 3, were 239 units of assorted laptop computers, 163 computer processing units, 141 desktop monitors, and two computer sets used as business service units.
