Manila, March 23 -- he Department of Agriculture (DA) on Monday expressed optimism in boosting the agriculture sector in the Bicol region after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. led the inspection of the PHP500 million worth Bicol Mega Cold Storage Warehouse in Pili, Camarines Sur.
In a statement, Tiu Laurel said the flagship project will not only support local farmers but also advance food security.
"This facility underscores the commitment of the Marcos administration to cut post-harvest losses, raise farmers' incomes, stabilize food supply, and ensure lasting rural development," he said.
