ZAMBOANGA, Feb. 17 -- The Basilan provincial government unveiled a PHP5.3 million solar power project Monday evening to provide stable electricity to the government center in Lamitan City.
Governor Mujiv Hataman said the 160-kilowatt system supplies 24/7 power to all offices at the center, with excess capacity for the soon-to-be-completed provincial board building and gymnasium.
"Our power requirements right now are only at 52KW. So we still have excess power that can supply the new building of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and the gymnasium that are nearing completion," Hataman said in a statement on Tuesday.
