Manila, June 28 -- Authorities confiscated PHP40.06 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 110 suspects in nationwide operations conducted June 18 to 25, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said in a news release over the weekend.

PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez said 83 operations were carried out across the country during the period.

"These accomplishments reflect the commitment of PDEA, the Philippine National Police, and other law enforcement agencies in protecting our communities from the threat of illegal drugs. Every successful operation in the cities, ports or remote areas strengthens public safety," Nerez said in a statement.
