Manila, Aug. 10 -- A shipment containing PHP11.6 million worth of shabu concealed in car parts was intercepted at the Port of Clark in Pampanga, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported on Monday.

In a belated news release, the BOC said the shipment originated from South Africa and arrived Aug. 5, bound for Angeles City.

The contraband weighed approximately 1,706 grams.

While undergoing regular clearance procedures, the BOC X-ray Inspection Project detected suspicious images within the declared car parts.

A subsequent K-9 sniff test yielded positive indications for illegal drugs, prompting the assigned examiner to conduct a physical examination.
