Manila, July 22 -- An OCTA Research survey released on Wednesday showed that 64 percent of adult Filipinos distrust China, up 9 notches from the survey done in the first quarter of 2026.

The latest survey, conducted from July 4 to 11, asked 1,200 adults the question: "Overall, how much trust should the Philippines extend to China?"

OCTA said that 64 percent answered "distrust" and only 14 percent answered "trust."

At least 21 percent of the respondents were undecided, it said.

By socioeconomic class, distrust was at 66 percent among Class ABC, 63 percent among Class D, and 67 percent among Class E.

Among age groups, distrust was highest among Filipinos aged 18 to 24 at 73 percent, and 70 percent for Filipinos aged 65 to 74 and those...
